Hey, if the contests aren't gonna happen anymore (and I'm very sad to see them go as they were one of the few things that gave me an excuse to have a play with Photoshop these days) could we at least set up a thread (updated fortnightly or something) with a list of released/about to be released fan edits that need covers. The requests thread is a mess and it's hard to tell whether a request has been filled or even which edit is actually having a cover requested for it. Also many faneditiors don't seem to bother with the request thread.
I know you guys often suggest that we help design covers outside the contest but finding the fanedits that need a cover, don't already have an artist lined up and appeals to my own personal love of movies (I definitely prefer making covers for fanedits where I've seen and at least somewhat enjoyed the original movie) can be and is a very daunting task. A simple single post with a list of the movies and links to their forum pages would be a great help and make finding projects to do a lot easier in my opinion.
The requests thread is not a mess. It's faneditors asking for cover art and usually not much happens then. Still it is THE appropriate thread for it. There are fanedits with no cover art, there are fanedits that could do with better cover art. And it is impossible to tell what people like and what they don't (except if they post about it). My suggestion: pick whatever you want. It really does not matter at all, if the release already has cover art. It's not much work to scroll through the true fanedits or extended edition section on fanedit.org and find out what needs cover art. The screenshot can also be a huge help in finding if you think an improved cover art could do. I think it is all there and we cannot pick the ones for you which you want to create.

not really. It's a free choice to do whatever you want to do. Does it matter if someone else is creating a cover art at the same time? Do we have a limit of allowed cover arts? No.
Now we do have a few rules about the screenshot:
the faneditor gets the screenshot with his own cover art, except if he says otherwise or if a contest is held (then the winner gets the screenshot).
As simple as it is: if you enjoy a fanedit or the fanedit idea and want to contribute: do it.
